The Female Money Story
I truly believe that anyone can create a million-dollar business or investment portfolio and that it’s never too late to start.
So what's stopping women?
The finance industry has been asking themselves just that and many of them are trying to ‘tap into’ the female market. They've come up with a story about why women have been slow to take up investing and 'found' listed companies. That story is that they lack financial literacy when compared to men. (source: https://www.afr.com/wealth/personal-finance/inequality-busting-fintechs-need-your-support-20220919-p5bj8p ).
Rubbish.
Women are just as intelligent as men (in fact, studies confirm that women actually make better investors than men and that school girls are better at math than their male counterparts). Anyone can pick up a book on economics or business strategy. Financial education has got nothing to do with the lack of female led IPOs or even with the number of females with an investment portfolio.
If success came from knowledge, librarians and academics would be billionaires. Alas, they are not. That’s because there’s another angle to wealth creation that everyone has missed and that is belief.
Unless you believe it’s possible for you to build wealth, you won’t. In fact, I would go so far as to say that you cannot build wealth unless you believe it is possible for you. Even if wealth came into your life by chance, you wouldn’t be able to hold onto that wealth because your belief system (that money is bad, greedy, or unsafe) would do everything in its power to sabotage it.
Beliefs are powerful.
If we want more wealthy women in this world, we need to empower women with self-worth and show them it’s possible for them to achieve any level of wealth they desire.
It's my mission to ensure the world has more wealthy women. Let's build a list of all the female role models out there (past or present) showing its possible to build wealth the feminine way. Maybe this will allow other women to believe that it's possible for them too.
Stretch your imagination and spread your wings. There's so much opportunity available to you and there's never been a better time in history to be a woman!
